YTMAP YT美食地圖
Food discovery · Taiwan
YTMAP turns thousands of YouTube food videos into a live map of Taiwan. Open it anywhere and see which nearby restaurants have been featured, who filmed them, and jump straight to the video. We designed, built, launched and run it end to end.
The challenge
Food channels are some of the most-watched content on YouTube in Taiwan. Viewers save dozens of “must try” places every week — but when they're actually hungry and out in the city, nobody remembers the shop's name, which channel filmed it, or which of a hundred videos it was in.
The information already existed. It was just locked inside video timelines and description boxes, with no way to ask the simple question: what's good near me right now?
The solution
Based on the user's location, the home screen lists three views at once: featured restaurants nearby, videos filmed nearby, and the channels that visited. Planning a trip? Switch to any city or township before you go.

Every red pin is a restaurant that has actually appeared in a video. Users pan and zoom freely across Taiwan, with the channels active in the current area shown along the top of the map.

Tap any pin to see the restaurant along with every video that featured it, including channel and upload date. One tap opens the video, so users can check the review before they commit to a meal.

Restaurants, videos and channels can all be saved. Saved places are grouped automatically by city and township, so the list for wherever you're heading is already waiting.

How we built it
A single Flutter codebase ships to the App Store and Google Play with feature parity, with fast, smooth maps that handle thousands of pins.
LINE is Taiwan's everyday messenger, so we built a React + LIFF version that runs inside it — no install required — sharing the same data and favorites as the native apps.
Every restaurant and video has a short ytmap.tw link. It opens straight into the app via Universal Links and App Links, or falls back to a web page with a rich preview.
No sign-up needed to browse. Location is read only in the foreground, never tracked in the background, and users can pick a township by hand instead.
The outcome
YTMAP is live on the App Store, Google Play and LINE, with a marketing site at ytmap.tw. More than 7,000 restaurants are mapped, each linked back to the videos that featured it — and users can suggest new channels and videos from inside the app, so the map keeps getting richer.
Tech stack
YTMAP is an independent product of Jabezawake LLC and is not affiliated with YouTube, Google or the featured creators. All video content belongs to its original creators.
